The joint-stock company "Kauno grūdai" starts the construction of a new factory in the city of Alytus. On December 14, during the symbolic time capsule burial ceremony, the official commencement of the construction of the new production facility was announced.

During the event, a capsule with a letter symbolizing the significance of the investment today and expectations for the future was buried for future generations.

"Today is a significant day for our organization – finally, everything from visions and plans on paper is beginning to take on a tangible form that we hope will contribute to the sustainable growth and prosperity of our company. By burying a symbolic time capsule, we want to give meaning to today and a better tomorrow for future generations. Like any business, we hope that our investment will bring not only economic benefits but also contribute to a better future for generations to come," said Andrius Pranckevičius, the CEO of AB "Kauno grūdai."

This is the second fast-food factory and the third production unit of the company in Alytus. The total investment amount is 32 million euros. The factory, spanning 7,400 square meters, will produce fast-prepared products, including fast-prepared pasta and porridge, creating about 250-300 new jobs. Currently, the company exports about 96% of its production.

"I am pleased that Alytus can attract significant investments. This not only creates new jobs for the city but also strengthens our entire region," said Nerijus Cesiulis, the Mayor of Alytus, congratulating the company.

The construction of the new factory has been entrusted to the joint-stock company "Panevėžio statybos trestas" (PST), which has extensive experience. In October of this year, a factory construction contract was signed, with the expected completion date being 11 months from the contract signing date.

"We are proud to contribute to one of Lithuania's business leaders, the local development of 'Kauno grūdai,' which undoubtedly will help strengthen the country's economy, create additional jobs, and improve the investment climate. We appreciate the trust shown to us and will strive to ensure smooth and constructive cooperation, laying the foundation for possible joint projects in the future," said Tomas Stukas, the CEO of PST.

The designed factory building will meet the A++ energy efficiency class, with provisions for production and storage spaces, as well as residential, dining, and recreational areas. The site of the building will include 22 electric vehicle charging stations, improved access roads, landscaping work, parking lots, pedestrian paths adapted for people with disabilities, and more.
